Valentines Day Winery Trip
It was the perfect way to start the day with a wedding going on beside me while waiting for the bus. The air is crisp and clean and people are all heading to work. I got a nice window seat on the bus and felt the air blow into my face and hair.
What totally made my whole day and set the tone was a guy shouting at an Indian woman for pushing and giving him that nasty attitude. I said, “Yes Sir, you tell her.”
After he got off the bus, he said
“Thank You madam” and gave me a thumbs up.”
Ahhh that was the most rewarding moment like everrrr. Time are changing and Indian women have come a long way leading them to feel empowered, but sometimes they need to tone it down with the attitude. Sometimes their behavior is not nice at all for local men.
I coordinated with Pradeep, my amazing and caring friend, who was waiting for me right under the service bridge. He was talking to the driver on the way to make sure they dropped me off at the right spot. He picked up Idly for me from a famous hotel on the way and we had coffee. Everything this man does is just amazing-it is the positive energy that just translates into the air.
I hopped on the back of his motorcycle. He has one of my favorite bikes because it is the most comfortable and smooth riding. We were riding through the dirt roads and the village to get to this winery....SULA. Sula is not A winery, it is the main wine producer in India and the wine that you will find pretty much everywhere you go.
We went to the vineyard and it was very beautifully done with wine bottles around and a rose garden. I quickly ran into the bathroom to change my outfit… We took some photos and then started the tour…
The tour began and it was actually quite nice with a polite and educated group of people. They asked good questions and the guide gave professional and fast responses. Sula is basically the only wine producer in India with most of their grapes coming from the Domdari region in Maharastra.
The vineyards were covered in net because it was the season for grape harvesting with grape stomping available on the weekends.
Pradeep, not a wine drinker, tried some wines but I watched his facial expressions as he did not even like any of them…only one was good , which was the Riesling and the glass I purchased which was the Grenache Rose….service was not the best and the food looked below average so we decided to go to place that he knows has great food.
It was literally the perfect restaurant, the perfect seat, the best food, the view of the animal farm with the ducks, goats, and chickens and service was excellent. This man speaks my language and the time with him is always so special as friends(purely platonic).
Then we visited a beautiful temple where we did the pooja and met some nice locals outside who shared some jackfruit with us, which was super sweet. The lady asked if I could take me with her wherever I go…it was really sweet and I think she was serious lol
Things just got better as I caught a bus that was half full going back to Mysore and I was sitting with my head out the window mesmerized by the bright pink Sunset filling the sky. I arrived to the bus station and figured I would walk a bit and then just take a bus back to the house…
