Kindness and the Golden Retriever

I had went alone to see Nishant Suri, an Indian comedian who was doing his show in 70 percent Hindi and 30 percent English.  My friend had to stay in the office late and had to cancel. It would have been nice to have a translator.

I forgot to bring my power bank, which usually never happens, but today it happened. I left the comedy show at Tiger Tiger brewhouse-dang these places are great in Bangalore-so upscale, great atmosphere, open air-just so nice. I had slight battery, but I figured I could take the bus and then get off and take an Ola ebike to my place.

This plan was so close to being executed, but this one security guard at the stop kept talking and shouting in the cutest way.

“Madaam where you from, where you going, what are you doing.” 25 questions at one time and all I needed to know was the exact address. I had no time to be cute because I had 2 percent battery.

As he kept talking and talking, I finally ordered the Uber got the driver confirmation, and then the driver declined the ride because it was in the opposite direction to his home.

And then the 1 percent was gone and the phone shut off…I had to take a long walk and then I met a nice man who wanted to help. He was walking his dog and I asked him about the 111 bus and how to get it. He called his son who speaks English and got him on the phone. I mean the concern and desire to help is just through the roof this trip and that is because God is sending angels and

God is telling me “You are loved, You are cared about, India loves you, and India is YOUR country and no one can take that away from you.”

This man, this man…..he  was so busy trying to help me that his dog got off the leash and ran into the traffic and he ran after the dog in the traffic…in the middle of oncoming traffic!

You cannot just go into that kind of traffic chasing a dog.. .I felt soooo bad because he was focused on me and not the dog. He came out of the traffic onto the curb and he was calm as could be. I apologized so much and he was again just wanting to help me. I ended up taking an auto, which was what I should have done in the first place, but “autos/rikshas and Priscilla” have a very hot and cold relationship.

God bless this man who helped me and all the others who are kind souls…I can see right through kindness and genuine people. It is a bright light that shines bright in front of me.
